Zachary Pitcher preaches the fourth sermon in our "Elijah: The Prophetic Voice" series, entitled 'Fire From Heaven' based on 1 Kings 18:17-40.
In the Old Testament, the role of the prophet was to speak on God’s behalf. The prophets called out idolatry and injustice, confronted wayward kings, and called the people of God back to repentance. Prophets were change agents that held God’s people accountable for their actions. Elijah was one of these prophets. A wild man who lived in the desert, Elijah spoke the truth, even when it was dangerous to do so. In this series, we will listen for God’s prophetic voice to us, through the ministry of Elijah.
